Working in his London Studio, at the Royal Ballet, Richard MacDonald had the priviledge of working with several Principal dancers from the Royal Ballet including Carlos Acosta, Sergie Polunin, Steven McRae and Tamara Rojo.

Steven McCrae, in Chroma, expresses a tightly tucked chin and a strong curving line of the spine to give the sense of dynamic energy reminiscent of a tightly coiled spring. We feel the explosive nature of this movement and the suggestion of tension building towards release – like a bow releasing an arrow. We respond instinctively to the primal intensity of the movement, and the elegant simplicity of the form.
