“Eurydice III” was the result of inspiration MacDonald discovered in classical Greek mythology in the early 1990's. Stirring the imagination, the finely observed anatomy of the figure underscores Eurydice's humanity - her circumstances place her in a world of complete vulnerability - a world and a place that is inside the realm of our own experiences. Eurydice’s evocative power is in its immediacy. The stripping away of all non essential detail heightens its effect.
