Richard MacDonald's beloved Origins has been pre-released in the magnificent two-thirds life size. This intimate and deeply passionate work of art has captured the hearts of many since its original release in 2019.
Richard MacDonald has always been intrigued by opposites and he has the range to be able to create both sculptures of delicate, archetypal femininity and powerful, athletic masculinity.
In "Origins", we see the combination of both: the softness and delicacy of the female and the strength and power of the male. Origins is expressive of tenderness and passion, with the intertwined figures conveying a sense of bliss and fulfillment. In the bond between man and woman there is a universal sense that two can become one, in mind, body, and spirit, and this connection is the ultimate expression of opposites forming a union that is perfect and complete.
